A 40 year old man, Victor Dashit, has been arrested in Plateau State for allegedly strangling his eight months pregnant wife, Irene, to death at their farm in Jos, the state capital on June 2nd.
According to reports by Family sources, the accused who is a staff of the National Industrial Court, Jos and his 33 year old wife who is a teacher, have been having marital issues since the wife got to know he was having sleeping with their maid, Nora.
In May 2016, the deceased caught her husband having sex with their maid, Nora and she sent her out of their home. Nora, came back two months later claiming that she was pregnant for Dashit.
On the day the wife died, she was on the farm with her husband and they had an argument so he strangled her.
Victor called his brother and told him his wife had slumped and would need medical attention.
She was rushed to the Air Force Military Hospital in Jos where doctors tried to save her baby but sadly, the baby died.
Doctors called in the police after finding marks on the deceased’s neck.
Victor was arrested by officers of the Anglo Police station in Jos where he confessed to strangling his wife to death.
