According to reports, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Kingsley Ononuju, has been reportedly abducted in Imo state and his abductors are demanding for N6 million as ransom.
Punch reports that sources, who are family members said he was abducted after he left his home, which is located at Oguta Street in Aladimma area of Owerri at about 8 pm on Thursday, June 29.
Barrister Ononjuju served as special adviser on new partnership for Africa’s development to the former Governor Ikedi Ohakim before he joined the APC.
His abductors demanded for N6 million. The source explained that the abductors contacted the family on Friday, June 30 and demanded for a ransom of N6 million before he would be set free.
“We don’t know at what point he was kidnapped but his abduction took place after he left his Owerri residence at about 8 pm on Thursday.
“His abductors called on Friday and allowed us to speak to him. We also spoke on Saturday. They are demanding N6m as ransom,” reports the source.
